Our story started with an article written about the Ethnicity Pay Gap. We were very concerned to hear about the disparity of pay when coming to minoritised workers and the difference in pay to their white counterparts. Also the difference in pay within the minoritised groups.
We officially launched the campaign in autumn of 2018. Our founder created the #EthnicityPayGap® T-shirt in solidarity for those who were affected by the pay gap. She went on to reach out to her network to gain more support. She has worked hard to expand her reach by writing articles, presenting at events and going on radio and television.
#EthnicityPayGap Campaign’s founder has written to the previous government to ask that the Ethnicity Pay Gap be mandatory reported. We continue to ask for this to happen and ask that there is action to close the gap.
We welcome the actions the new government plan to take in regards to the Ethnicity Pay Gap, we look forward to seeing the detail.
