Our quarterly newsletter is full of updates on our activities. We hope that you engage with us and get involved with the campaign.
I want to thank those of you who engaged with my video post encouraging people to take part in the Ethnicity Pay Gap consultation. It was viewed by over 14,000 people and reshared 114 times. This was a clear demonstration that people are very keen for change to happen. Organisations are ready to do the work that is needed to ensure pay equity exsists in their organisations.
We are now in the final quarter of the year, expectations are running high with the consultation on the Ethnicity Pay Gap now concluded. The government has advised us that we should expect a response on the consultation in this quarter. I like many others await the result of the consultation and how it is interpreted by the government. This will be the first stage of the governments plan to make Ethnicity Pay Gap Mandatory to report. We can only hope that an update on the consultation will be provided before the year is out as advised.
The #Ethnicity Pay Gap Campaign continue to engage with organisations that are community focused and organisations keen to improve their pay disparity. We ran our first Ethnicity Pay Gap networking event which was a success. Notably, connections were made to help to narrow the wealth gap that Black, Asian and other minorities are experiencing. Discussions on how best to collaborate to ensure positive outcomes was a strong topic of discussion. We hope to hold the network events annually.
The London School of Economics will be the host to a very important Pay Equity event organised by Lawrence Davies a true advocate for equal rights. I will be speaking alongside other important speakers on 20th October. If you haven’t seem the information about the event, I would advise you to reach out to Lawrence Davies who will be able to share the details with you.
What’s happening in 2026
Ethnicity Pay Gap Day 2026, is around the corner, we are calling on you to ‘Lead for Change.’ On the 8th January we hope to hear about what you are doing on the day, the examples you will be sharing that shows that you are leading for change. Ethnicity Pay Gap Day should be acknowledged by all organisations and individuals who value pay equity.
We have started planning for Ethnicity Pay Gap Summit 2026. This will be a little different from previous years but will be just as impactful. We are not going to give anything away yet but expect an announcement very soon!
